Neighborhood Nights

This summer, Vigilant Hope is hosting Family Fun Nights in the Jervay neighborhood every Thursday evening. These nights are all about creating a safe, welcoming space where families can come together, have fun, and build community through outdoor games, arts and crafts, movies, and other activities. Our hope is that the next generation will grow up seeing their neighborhood as a place where good things happen and where they are deeply valued.

To help maintain the neighborhood-centered feel of these gatherings, we are keeping our volunteer involvement intentionally limited. One of the best ways to support these evenings is by sponsoring and serving at our weekly snack station. We are looking for simple, individually packaged items such as Uncrustables, applesauce pouches, fruit cups, chips, water, and Gatorade or juice with cups. We are not serving dinner, as we want to keep things easy, consistent, and avoid spoiling appetites before families head home. Table and chairs will be provided.

We anticipate serving around 50 children and guardians each week, though we may adjust that number as attendance becomes clearer. Along with providing the snacks, we ask that volunteer groups commit to having 2–3 people present during the event to help set up, serve, and manage the snack station. This is a great opportunity to connect with families while participating in a warm and welcoming environment for the community!
